Quick and Easy Weight Loss Steps That Yield Big Results
Executive summary about Easy Weight Loss by Dr. Becky Gillaspy
If you are looking for quick and easy weight loss steps that can give you big results then this article will show you how.
- Keep temptation out of arms reach. Take an inventory of your home, car and office and get rid of tempting food items. The plain truth is that we all have moments of weakness and if the food is available you have little defense against eating it.
- End mindless eating. When you have your next meal or snack in front of you pause just long enough to notice how the food looks and smells and then when you bite into it listen for a crunch and note how the food feels as it moves in your mouth and then take a moment to note the taste. You will naturally eat less and discover that some foods that you could not live without before are not as great as you thought.
- Keep a food journal. This will help you lose weight even if you are not on a formal diet because it gives you a sense of being accountable for what you eat and let’s face it, when you have to write down everything you eat you are more inclined to chose your foods more wisely.
- Look for ways to move more. Your body loves to move so treat it to a little more each and every day.

BMI does not directly measure the percentage of body fat, but it is a lot more accurate at approximating body fat than measuring body weight alone. Dividing a person’s weight in kilograms by that person’s height in meters squared will give you the BMI.
A BMI of 25 to 29.9 is classified as overweight and a BMI of 30 or greater is considered obese, according to the national institutes of health. Studies have shown that as BMI rises above 25, blood pressure and blood cholesterol rise, HDL levels falls, and maintaining normal blood sugar levels becomes more difficult. Studies have proven that excessive abdominal fat is more health threatening than is fat in the hips or thighs.
Increased abdominal or upper body fat is related to the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and stroke. Body fat concentrated in the lower body around the hips, for example seems to be less harmful. Read more »
